Lookup By Example
1. In ACT!, Lookup | By Example.

2. This
will take you to a screen with blank fields. Navigate to
the Create Date field (generally found on your
Status tab). Type >1/1/03 in the field.
We are telling ACT! to find all contacts that have been
created since January 1, 2003. If you have an older
database and will be using any years prior to 2000, then you
would need to enter the entire 4 digit year. Otherwise,
you can simply enter the last two digits.

3.
After you have type in the data to search for, click on the
Green Exclamation Point icon on the toolbar.

4. Upon click the icon, the Run Query
Options dialog box will open. By default,
Replace lookup is selected. Unless you want to
Add or Narrow a current lookup, leave
the Replace lookup
selected and click OK. This will
generate a lookup of the contacts specific in your date range.

5.
If you wanted to search contacts between two
particular dates, you would follow the steps exactly the same,
except for Step 2. Instead of entering
>1/1/03, you would enter the dates separated by two
periods. For example, if you wanted to search contacts
created between July 15, 2003, and September 15, 2003, you
would enter 7/15/03..9/15/03 in the
Create Date field.
